Registrar access is not DNS access
The searched label refers to reading Registrar domain information, not permission to edit DNS. Cloudflare's legacy domain-list API describes registration details such as the registrar, expiry and lock status. Its current documentation marks that endpoint as deprecated, with end of life on September 27, 2026.
The current permission reference does not list the exact label “Registrar Domains Read”. Do not rely on an old label or copy a permission ID from this article. Check the endpoint and permission groups in Cloudflare's current documentation. Read access should not be treated as authority to register, transfer or modify a domain.

What the TalkToData connector actually reads
- Account metadata: accessible account names and identifiers.
- Zones: domain names, zone status, paused status and assigned nameservers.
- DNS records: capped record summaries; TXT-like content is masked.
- Registrar records: no current Registrar action. Registration expiry, renewal and transfer data are not exposed.
Zone status is not registration status. This connector does not provide a dedicated SSL, WAF, security-event or cache-analytics report, and does not edit DNS, purge cache or change account settings.
TalkToData uses Cloudflare authorization with the configured application permissions. It does not ask you to paste an API token. The current data actions do not call Registrar endpoints, so this guide does not ask you to add Registrar permissions.
Use Cloudflare data in ChatGPT
- Open the Cloudflare connection page and sign in to TalkToData.
- Choose Connect Cloudflare and review the official Cloudflare authorization request.
- Return to TalkToData and confirm the connection status and intended account.
- Open the Cloudflare GPT linked on that screen, sign in to ChatGPT and authorize when prompted.

Troubleshoot without broadening permissions
If a zone is missing, verify the authorized account and the resources included in consent. If DNS data is unavailable, check access to that zone; Registrar access is not a substitute for DNS access. Reconnect if authorization has expired, or ask support about an unexpected permission request. Never share tokens or passwords.
Questions before you connect
Is Registrar Domains Read the same as DNS Read?
No. Registration records and zone DNS records are different resources. Consult the current Cloudflare endpoint and permission reference rather than assuming one grants the other.
Does TalkToData show domain expiry or renewal dates?
No. The current connector reads account metadata, zones and capped DNS summaries, not Registrar records.
Can TalkToData change my Cloudflare settings?
No. The current actions do not edit DNS, purge cache, change WAF rules or modify account settings.
