From eBay account to first question
You need a TalkToData account, an eBay seller account you are authorized to connect, and access to the linked GPT in ChatGPT. The TalkToData trial includes one channel connection.
- Open Connect eBay and create a TalkToData account or sign in.
- Continue to eBay's authorization screen. Check the account and permissions before approving.
- Return to TalkToData and confirm the connected eBay username.
- Use Open TalkToData GPT from the connection page. Authorize TalkToData in ChatGPT if prompted; do not paste eBay tokens into a conversation.
- Ask a bounded question and check the returned period, marketplace and coverage.

These are example prompts, not customer outcomes. Responses depend on the data available to the authorized seller account and the limits of each action.
What this connector does not do
It does not edit listings, prices or stock, fulfill orders, send messages or take seller actions. Buyer-message data is not exposed. Not every listing type, marketplace field or historical period is guaranteed to be returned; do not treat a capped response as the entire store.

If eBay data is missing
Confirm the eBay username on the connection page and the account used during consent. Start with a small recent-order or listing request. If a data type is unavailable, ask the GPT to state that explicitly instead of filling the gap. Reconnect for expired authorization, or contact support without sending credentials.

Does TalkToData change eBay listings or orders?
No. The current eBay connection uses read-only scopes and does not edit listings or orders.
