Understand traffic, acquisition and landing pages

Ask about users, sessions, acquisition sources, popular pages, engagement and available key-event metrics for your selected GA4 property. Start with a specific question, name a date range and ask for the actual measurements behind the answer.

  • Traffic: which sources gained or lost sessions?
  • Content: which pages attract visitors and hold their attention?
  • Acquisition: how do organic search, referrals and campaigns compare?
  • Priorities: which measured changes deserve a manual check?

Available metrics depend on your GA4 setup, permissions and report compatibility. A traffic change is a signal, not proof of its cause. Key-event and revenue analysis requires those events to be configured and collected in your property.

14 read-only GA4 reports, one connected property

TalkToData Analytics retrieves reports from the Google Analytics Data API for the property you authorize. These are focused GA4 reports, not a blend of unrelated websites or estimated search rankings.

  • Summary: a seven-day overview of users, sessions, views and available key-event metrics.
  • Daily traffic: daily activity and engagement across a recent reporting period.
  • Traffic sources: session source and medium, with available users, key events and revenue.
  • Pages and landing pages: two reports for viewed content and the pages where visits begin.
  • Devices, countries and cities: three reports for the audience breakdowns returned by GA4.
  • Campaigns: recorded session-campaign attribution and available performance metrics.
  • Events: event counts and available key-event activity.
  • Ecommerce: recorded item views, cart activity, purchases and product revenue.
  • Period comparison: recent performance against the preceding period of equal length.
  • Realtime and Realtime breakdown: active-user counts over the last 30 minutes and supported country, city, page, device or event groupings.

Recent-period reports support up to 90 complete days where the tool accepts a days parameter. The summary uses seven complete days; Realtime uses its own 30-minute window. Ask for the actual dates, property time zone and report limits. Ecommerce and key-event reports depend on your site's tracking setup, and unavailable data should never be presented as zero.

Connect Google Analytics to ChatGPT

Try one useful first question

Example prompt

For my connected GA4 property, compare the last 7 complete days with the previous 7. Summarize users, sessions, top acquisition sources and landing pages where available. State the property, dates and any data limits. Separate measured changes from hypotheses and suggest three things to investigate. Do not change any settings.

Follow up on one finding: ask for the source breakdown, a specific landing page or a longer comparison with the same filters. If a metric is unavailable, ask for that limitation rather than an estimate presented as fact.

From a ChatGPT report to a focused Codex task

Start in ChatGPT with the Analytics plugin. Where the plugin is available and connected in Codex, you can also use the returned GA4 evidence alongside an authorized website project. The Analytics connection remains read-only: it does not grant access to your repository or edit your site.

Example reporting prompt

Use my connected GA4 property to compare the last 28 complete days with the previous 28. Show the property ID, dates, time zone, users, sessions, organic-search sources and leading landing pages. Keep Google's reported totals separate from sums of returned rows. State any limits and suggest three checks supported by the results.

Example development brief

Using the returned GA4 landing-page report and the website code I separately authorize, inspect the relevant pages. Identify one content or usability improvement supported by the evidence. Explain what the data cannot prove, propose a focused change and define how to test it. Do not alter tracking, consent or account settings.

GA4 does not supply Google Search query rankings. For impressions, queries and search-result CTR, use the separate Search Console connection and search-performance analysis guide. Neither source alone proves why visitors behave a certain way, and a code change does not guarantee more traffic.

A three-day trial that starts when you are ready

Your 3-day trial starts only when both the plugin connection and Analytics property are connected. Registering on the website alone does not start that countdown.

After the trial, a one-service plan is $10 USD per month, or $40 USD every six months: six months for the price of four monthly payments. See current pricing. Manage your subscription from Billing after signing in.

Read-only access, with you in control

The Analytics plugin reads the data you authorize. It does not edit GA4 settings, publish website changes or change advertising campaigns. Google Analytics remains your measurement source; returned reports can be delayed, thresholded or limited.

Analytics describes activity on your site. For search queries, impressions and search-result CTR, use the separate Search Console workflow. The two sources answer different questions and their totals should not be treated as interchangeable.

Get help with your first connection

If the property is missing, check which Google account you authorized and whether it has access to that GA4 property. If the plugin cannot read data, confirm that both connections are complete before trying a small date-range report.

Email hello@navines.com, message NAVINES on WhatsApp, or use the contact page. Share the issue and property name, never passwords or tokens.

Questions before you connect

Can I open the plugin without signing in to TalkToData?

Yes. The public plugin listing is available directly. Reading your own GA4 data requires you to sign in to TalkToData, authorize Google and complete the plugin connection.

When does the three-day trial begin?

When both the plugin and the Analytics property are connected, not merely when you register on the website.

Can the plugin change Google Analytics settings?

No. TalkToData Analytics uses read-only access and does not change GA4 settings or website content.

Can I switch to another GA4 property?

Yes. Open the Analytics connection page and use Reselect GA4 property. Confirm the property before your next question.

Will ChatGPT know why traffic changed?

It can help investigate returned measurements and suggest checks, but a change alone does not establish its cause.

Does the Analytics plugin include Search Console data?

No. It reads your selected GA4 property. Google Search queries, impressions and rankings belong to a separate Search Console connection.

Why can a row sum differ from the reported total?

Returned rows can be limited and Google reports can use different aggregation rules. Preserve Google's reported total, row counts and reconciliation information; do not invent missing sessions or remove rows just to force a match.
